Women's handball - Champions League: CSM Bucharest, clear victory against FC Midtjylland, in Denmark

CSM Bucharest defeated Danish team FC Midtjylland, 31-26 (16-13), on Sunday, in Ikast, in the Women's EHF Champions League main Group I.

CSMB consolidated its first position through this emotion-free victory. Still, Romania's champion had to overcome a difficult moment in the middle of the second round, when it was led by Midtjylland, 23-22 (46th minute). "The tigresses" managed six consecutive goals (23-28, the 54th min) and thus sealed the match's fate.

Cristina Neagu was Romania's best scorer, with 10 goals, the rest being pulled off by Marit Frafjord 8, Amanda Kurtovic 4, Oana Manea 2, Isabelle Gullden 2, Aneta Udristioiu 1, Nathalie Hagman 1, Majda Mehmedovic 1, Gnonsiane Niombla 1, goalkeeper Jelena Grubisic 1.

On behalf of Midtjylland, Anne Mette Pedersen scored 6 goals, Helene Gigstad Fauske 5, Tonje Loeseth 4, Veronica Kristiansen 3, Mie Augustesen 2, Judith Sans Serra 1.

The game was was referred by Jelena Mitrovic şi Andjelina Kazanegra and the EHF delegate was the Swedish Monika Hagen.

On Saturday, Rostov defeated RK Krim Mercator Ljubljana, 29-22 and the Gyori Audi ETO KC - NFH - Nykobing Falster Handbold match will take place on Monday.

CSM Bucharest ranks first, with 10 points, followed by Rostov, 8 points, Gyor, 6, NFH - Nykobing Falster, 4, Krim, 4, Midtjylland, 2 points.
