New government officials sworn in after mini-reshuffle

Six new members of the cabinet were sworn in at the Presidential Mansion on Thursday after a mini-reshuffle that was prompted by the resignation of two ministers earlier this week.

Ioannis Dragasakis, formerly the deputy prime minister, was sworn in as economy minister, taking over from Dimitris Papadimitriou, who resigned on Tuesday.

Dimitris Vitsas, formerly the dputy minister of defense, is taking over at the Migration Ministry from Yiannis Mouzalas, who is being replaced amid reports of health trouble.

Fotis Kouvelis is the new face in the leftist-led government and is taking over from Vitsas at the Defense Ministry, while Nasos Iliopoulos is replacing Rania Antonopoulou, the alternate labor minister who resigned on Monday following revelations that she was receiving a monthly 1,000-euro state rent allowance for an apartment in the upscale Athens...
