Kosovo Court Acquits ex-KLA Commander Fatmir Limaj of War Crimes
The Basic Court in Gjakova has acquitted Fatmir Limaj, former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA/UCK), of committing war crimes related to the killing of two Albanian civilians - Ramiz Hoxha and Selman Binishi.
The presiding judge of the case, Nikollë Komani, said the Court has failed to prove any link of the accused, Fatmir Limaj, with those who committed the murder of Selman Binishi and Ramiz Hoxha, GazetaExpress reports.
"The accused is acquitted of all charges," said the presiding judge reading the judgment on Friday morning.
According to the indictment, the two Albanian civilians Hoxha and Binishi were killed on 2 October 1998 in Malisheva municipality during the Kosovo war, after according to the indictment, they were kidnapped by armed people with the KLA uniforms.
