JusMin Toader on President Iohannis's refusal to dismiss chief prosecutor Kovesi: It reaches court today

Justice Minister Tudorel Toader announced that the notification after President Klaus Iohannis's refusal to dismiss chief anti-graft prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi, will get to the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) on Monday.

"I met the prime minister, I presented to him the draft notification to the Constitutional Court, the arguments, the content of that draft. She agreed and signed it in my presence. Today, the notification gets at the Constitutional Court," said Toader after meeting Prime Minister Viorica Dancila.

Toader had a discussion at the Government House on Monday of about half an hour with Prime Minister Viorica Dancila on the subject of a possible notification of the CCR.

Toader had previously stated that he had drafted a notification to the CCR, but the final form could include a part of the report released by the head of state.

"We gave a form, a draft of the notification, which we will amend to include parts of the report released by the President of Romania. Obviously, depending on what I discuss with the prime minister, if necessary, we will take over the new suggestive proposals," Toader said at the Justice Ministry.

He reiterated that the notification is not a personal initiative, nor is it driven by personal dissatisfaction. AGERPRES (RO - author: George Onea, editor: Claudia Stanescu; EN - author: Corneliu-Aurelian Colceriu, editor: Rodica State)
