Iohannis: Government should correct public sector's discontent

President Klaus Iohannis pointed out, Monday, that it is the Government's job to correct the public sector's discontent, because things are not all right.

"We have different opinions in public. I'm pointing out that things are not going the way they're supposed to, and basically we have picketing on a daily basis, union strikes, and the government officials are pretending they don't see anything and keep repeating, mechanically, that everything is all right. Things are not all right, but it is the Government's job to check the causes of these complaints and correct them", said Iohannis.

He also reminded of the meeting he had with Prime Minister Viorica Dancila and Labor Minister Lia Olguta Vasilescu, concerning wages in the public sector.

"I believe that I gave out a very clear signal at that time. Concerning the wages, things aren't going as they should, there are problems, numerous problems, and I have asked everyone involved in this process to get to work and improve both the framework and the specific approach," President Iohannis added.
