Korea Democracy Foundation's Shin Hyung-sik: North Korea's denuclearization to last 3 to 5 yrs, followed by economic freedom

AGERPRES special correspondent Florin Barbuta reports: The denuclearization of North Korea will last 3 to 5 years, and afterwards the economic freedom between the two countries will occur, the director of Korea Democracy Foundation, Shin Hyung-sik told AGERPRES.

He highlighted that it will take a long time, and yet until the two countries will become one, the status of two states will be maintained and the separated families in the two Koreas will meet again on 15 September, on Independence Day.

Under the supervision of the Red Cross, the separated families who live in North and South Korea will finally be together on our Independence Day, on 15 September. Moreover, we shall participate in the Asian Game due in Jakarta, and the north and south athletes are talking to make one single team. From the capital market's viewpoint, we are in a process to recovering the so-called Korean discount, meaning that currently the price of the shares is underestimated due to uncertainties of North Korea, and now we are recouping, specified the KDF director in a meeting brought about by Korean Culture&Information Service and the Ministr y of Culture, Sport and Tourism in South Korea's gov't.

According to him, many opposition parties in South Korea hail the recently inked declaration between the two states, yet the largest opposition party is challenging it.
Based on my observations, the attitude shown by Kim Jong-un has changed. There are two things we should keep an eye on: firstly, Kim Jong-un is the first north Korean leader to having agreed for the talks to be live broadcast; secondly, the north Korean media have covered the declaration, its contents, in detail, through their people. This is what makes the difference to the past and I find it encouraging, concluded Shin Hyung-sik.AGERPRES(RO - editor: Nicoleta Gherasi; EN - author, editor: Maria Voican)
