Today Sofia Pride 2018 will be held under the motto "LGBTI people should lead a dignified life and be able to express themselves openly".

The program will begin with a concert at the Soviet Army Monument at 16:00, then a procession will start at 19:00. The concert and the procession are expected to take place under enhanced security measures.

Twenty-four diplomatic missions, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for Bulgaria published a joint statement supporting the LGBTI people's peace process and those who support them. The declaration is supported by the diplomatic missions of the European Union, as well as Australia, Brazil, Israel, Canada, Norway, the United States, Switzerland and South Africa.

The organizers point out as an important issue the non-recognition of LGBTI people's families and the consequent legal constraints. Among these limitations are the right to survivor's pension, parental and reproductive rights, right to inheritance, access to partner information, and others.

For the first time this year, the program of accompanying events at Sofia Pride (thematic exhibitions, shows, film festival, sporting events and discussion forums) continues throughout the month. By the end of June, the Odeon cinema will feature a panorama of Irish cinema from the past three years. The entrance is free with tickets taken from the cinema counters.

Today in Sofia are expected events against Pride 2018 as well - "Family March", concert "To Revive Family Values" organized by Vazrazhdane Party and "Let's Save the Children of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Family".
