Montenegro: Officer fires shots inside MoD premises

A Montenegrin army colonel has fired shots inside the premises of the Montenegrin Defense Ministry, the ministry announced.

A press release identified the officer with his initials as E.H., adding that the shooting did not result in any injuries or material damage.

Montenegro's state broadcaster RTCG said that the ministry did not explain whether E.H. fired accidentally or on purpose.

Meanwhile, Montenegrin website CdM is reporting that the officer is Lt. Col. Emin Husovic, and that he decided to shoot after a job-related altercation.

According to this, MoD employees prevented "further conflict."

The case is being investigated by the Podgorica Security Center.
