Tennis: Begu and Buzarnescu, finalists in WTA Eastbourne Doubles

The pair made up of Romanian tennis players Irina Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu will play in the doubles final of the WTA tournament on grass in Eastbourne (United Kingdom), an event featuring prizes worth 852,564 dollars, after they defeating on Friday, in the last but final act, the pair made up of Nadia Kicenok (Ukraine) and Ekaterina Makarova (Russia), 4-6, 6-0, 10-6.

Romanian players prevailed in one hour and 18 minutes.

Begu and Buzarnescu ensured a cheque worth 26,435 dollars and 305 WTA points, and during the final they will face off one of the winners between Gabriela Dabrowski (Canada)/Yifan Xu (China), 4th seed and Su-Wei Hsieh (Taiwan)/Arina Sabalenka (Belarus).

Begu has one WTA doubles title, won in 2018, alongside Simona Halep, in Shenzen, from the total of seven.

Buzarnescu has a WTA title won this year, with Raluca Olaru, in Strasbourg, and finals played in Prague (alongside Lida Morozova from Belarus) and Nottingham (with British player Heather Watson).
