Tennis: Four Romanian players among the seeded players at BRD Bucharest Open (WTA)

Not less than four Romanian tennis players are among the seeded players at the BRD Bucharest Open (WTA) tournament, equipped with total prizes worth 226,750 US dollars, to start on Monday on the BNR Arenas in the Capital City: Mihaela Buzarnescu is 2nd seeded, Irina Begu, last edition's winner, is 3rd seeded, Sorana Cirstea is seed no. 5 and Ana Bogdan is seed no. 6.

There are eight Romanian players in total on the singles main draw, three of them having benefited from wild cards: Andreea Rosca, Gabriela Ruse and Miriam Bulgaru, the other being Alexandra Dulgheru.

Buzarnescu, seed no.2, is set to play against an opponent from Montenegro, in the first round, Danka Kovinic.

Sorana Cirstea will play against an opponent coming from qualifications and Ana Bogdan will have a very difficult match against Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova (Slovakia), another former champion of the Bucharest competition.

Alexandra Dulgheru too will have a difficult match, against French Pauline Parmentier, seed no. 8.

Rosca is scheduled to meet a player coming from qualifications, Ruse will meet seed no. 7 Slovenian Polona Hercog and Miriam Bulgaru will meet Chinese Yafan Wang.

Latvian Anastasija Sevastova, who reached the final two years ago, is seed no. 1, and she will play against Dalila Jakupovic (Slovenia) in the first round.
