"3Faces" by Jafar Panahi - screened in opening of ANONIMUL Festival; director Emir Baigazin - special guest

"3Faces" film, by Jafar Panahi will be screened in the opening of ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival, taking place Monday through Sunday, in Sfantu Gheorghe, the Danube Delta, Emir Baigazin, the Kazakh director being the guest of the 15th edition of the event, the organisers inform.

"3Faces", directed by Jafar Panahi won the best script award at Cannes Festival this year. The Iranian director won the Golden Bear award at Berlin International Film festival in 2015 for "Taxi". The artist has been in house arrest for a few years, due to the political regime in Iran.

Radu Jude's latest film will also be screened at the festival - "Îmi este indiferent dacă în istorie vom intra ca barbari"/ "I do not care if we go down in history as barbarians", winner of the Grand Prix - Crystal Globe of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2018, and also picked as Romania's entry for a nomination at the 2019 Best Foreign Language Oscar. The film captures the story of a modern-day reenactment of the atrocities committed in the aftermath of the siege of Odessa in WWII.

"Romanian Film Evening" at Anonimul will kick off on Tuesday with the screening of ""Meda sau partea nu prea fericita a lucrurilor"/Meda Or The Not So Bright Side Of Things, directed by Emanuel Parvu, first screened at the Film Festival in Sarajevo last year, where it won the Award for directing - Emanuel Parvu and the Best Actor Award - Serban Pavlu. The evening will continue with part of Dan Chisu's next film - "The Gendarme", followed by the short film "Christmas Gift", screened in the presence of director Bogdan Muresanu and the screening of Vlad Zamfirescu's debut in directing :The Secret of happiness".

On Friday, the Kazakh director Emir Baigazin will be granted the Anonimul Trophy for "his contribution to the beauty of universal cinematography". The Anonimul Trophy was awarded in previous years to directors Park Chan-wook (2016) and Michel Franco (2017).

Director Emir Baigazin will present to the public in the Sfantu Gheorghe camping site "The Wounded Angel", alongside his debut film, "Harmony Lessons", winner of the Golden Bear Award for outstanding artistic contribution, for the image signed by Aziz Zhambakiyev, at Berlin International Film festival in 2013. As a matter of fact, all of the artist's films will be screened during the Danube Delta Festival.

Baigazin will hold on Saturday a masterclass in the Green Village Cinema Hall. The festival officially ends on Saturday evening, with an award gala, followed by the first-ever screening of "BlacKkKlansman", a film directed by Spike Lee - rewarded with the Grand Prix at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, inspired by the life of Ron Stallworth, the first African-American police officer who managed to infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.
