Minister-delegate Negrescu calls for reason and unity inside PSD

Romania's Minister-delegate for European Affairs Victor Negrescu calls for "reason and unity" inside the Social Democratic Party (PSD), prior to the party's National Executive Committee (CExN) meeting, adding that the main concern of the party should be "the governing act."

"My colleagues say it's a mistake that little has been said in the public space regarding the real country projects. This is why, the team of the PES activists Romania believes that the Social Democratic Party should talk more about society. Our main concern should be the Governing act, in order to provide solutions to real problems which the citizens are daily confronted with. Precisely from here, a path towards consensus might emerge. This path doesn't imply lack of action. This path implies an ideological and an identity revival of the party through an internal debate with the members and followers of the Social Democratic Party. I hope the voice of reason will dominate and the party's unity will be preserved," Negrescu wrote on Friday morning on his Facebook page.

He calls his post "Call for reason and unity inside the Social Democratic Party" and says that the Permanent Bureau of the PES activists Romania delegated him to endorse, in the National Executive Committee (CExN) meeting, the social democrat values, preserving the governance, which implies the party's unity.

The PSD's National Executive Committee (CExN) will gather on Friday in a meeting that will be held at the Palace of Parliament, with the central topic focused on the public demarche that was taken on by several leaders of the party through an open letter requesting the resignation of Liviu Dragnea as chairman of the PSD and Speaker of the Deputies' Chamber and guaranteeing Viorica Dancila the interim leadership of the party.
