Mures: AGERPRES documentary "The Greater Union-Romania, at 100" - presented at conference "100 years of military history"

The AGERPRES documentary "The Greater Union - Romania, at 100" was presented in Targu Mures, on Friday, at the conference "100 years of military history," held as part of the cultural project "100 years in 10 days," financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Identity.

The screening of the documentary made by AGERPRES was organised by the Transylvanian Association for Culture from Targu Mures in partnership with the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Targu Mures, the "Gheorghe Sincai" Institute for Social and Humanistic Research of the Romanian Academy and the National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archives.

Besides the screening of the documentary "Greater Union - Romania, at 100," at the conference "100 years of military history," the participants approached a series of themes such as military parachuting, the war effort of the Romanian military medicine in the first world war, the status of the Romanian militaries over 1918-1939, Romania during the great military clashes of the 20th century, Romania in its centennial year, seen by a foreign writer, as well as contemporary topics, such as NATO's communication and security strategy in the Eastern European space and inter-ethnical conflicts, between the diplomatic and violent solution.

The "Greater Union - Romania, at 100" documentary presents the testimonies of the successors of those who fought in the First World War, and also a collection of important historic moments in the creation of this state. AGERPRES followed into the footsteps of those who achieved the Union: in Bessarabia, Northern Bucovina and Transylvania, with the descendants of those who put their shoulder to the reunification of the country raising the curtains to unveil the most important historic moment of our country. Through their voice, we discover a nation without borders. Romania, at 100, is about a history that continues to be written.

The documentary was made by Mihut Nastasache, Marilena Stanescu and Sergiu Olteanu. The image was signed by Alfred Schupler, Sergiu Olteanu and Andrei Carlan. Reporters were Marilena Stanescu, Mihut Nastasache and Camelia Moise. The graphics, sound and editing was done by Andrei Carlin, with Alexandru Vintilescu as technical assistant.

The AGERPRES National News Agency officially launched on February 22, 2018, the video documentary "Greater Union - Romania, at 100," especially made in celebration of the Centennial Year.

As part of the cultural project "100 years in 10 days," implemented by the Transylvanian Association for Culture of Targu Mures, at the Faculty of Economic, Legal and Administrative Sciences of the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Targu Mures, also presented was the exhibition of photography "Romania: Evolution," with images from the AGERPRES and Associated Press archives, which includes the best pictures made by the AGERPRES photographers in the recent years.
