Bucharest-Ilfov ISU conducts field reconnaissances to identify possible damages following earthquake

Following the earthquake which occurred at 3:38hrs, the Bucharest-Ilfov Inspectorate for Emergency Situation (ISU) conducted field reconnaissances in order to identify possible damages, taking into account that no calls were made to the 112 emergency number.

"Attention. An earthquake occurred a little while ago. Keep calm, aftershocks following the earthquake might occur. We are currently conducting field reconnaissances in order to identify possible damages. No calls were recorded through the single emergency number 112," Bucharest-Ilfov ISU stated.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 degrees on the Richter scale occurred on Sunday, at 3:38hrs, in Covasna county, at 200-km depth, according to the National Institute of Earth Physics Research and Development.

The earthquake occurred near the following cities: Covasna (23 km), Nehoiu (28 km), Intorsura Buzaului (33 km), Targu Secuiesc (37 km) and Slanic-Moldova (54 km), the National Institute of Earth Physics Research and Development informed.
