PM attends digitization summit in Sofia

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has arrived in Sofia to attend the Startup Europe Summit, which is part of the initiative Digital Agenda for the Western Balkans.

The aim of the Digital Agenda is digital transformation and modernisation of public administration, greater cyber security and the improvement of business climate in the region.

The Summit has been opened by Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov and European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel.

The summit in Sofia is attended by 400 representatives of the European startup ecosystem, and Brnabic will speak at a panel on transformation of the Western Balkans into a region suitable for startups together with the prime ministers of Macedonia and Montenegro, Zoran Zaev and Dusan Markovic respectively.

Brnabic will have a separate meeting with Borisov in Sofia.

After that, the Prime Minister will travel to Thessaloniki, where she will attend the 3rd Thessaloniki Summit 2018, at which she will speak at a panel on regional cooperation and European integration together with the prime ministers of Greece and Bulgaria, Alexis Tsipras and Boyko Borisov respectively, and with Vice Prime Minister of Romania Ana Birchall.

The Thessaloniki Summit will focus on the challenges, priorities and the economic and political prospects of the Western Balkans region.

On the sidelines of the Thessaloniki Summit, Brnabic will have a separate meeting with her Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras.
