Geoana: Bush - artisan of dismantling Soviet empire; will hold place of honor in our history book

Bucharest, Dec 2 /Agerpres/ - Former Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana considers that George H. W. Bush, who died at the age of 94, will hold a place of honor also in our history book, as he is, alongside Ronald Reagan, the artisan of the dismantling of the Soviet empire and the return of democracy and freedom to Romania.

"Hero of America, George Herbert will hold a place of honor also in our history book, as he is, alongside Ronald Reagan, the artisan of the dismantling of the Soviet empire and the return of democracy and freedom to Romania and to the hard-tried region we are part of," Geoana wrote on Facebook.

He added that the passing away of Bush is the sunset of the generation of statesmen who made the fight against communism their life creed.
