RYCO supports youth exchanges in WB with EUR 1mn

RYCO intends to support and empower civil society organizations and secondary schools to implement activities in the areas of regional youth cooperation, mobility and exchange; and enabling environment for regional youth cooperation. For this call, RYCO will allocate one million euros.

High school and civil society organizations will be able to send their project proposals worth between 10,000 and 35,000 Euros until 25 January 2019. All relevant information are available on the institution's website - www.rycowb.org. The overall amount available for the call is one million euros.

"RYCO wants to empower young people for setting the course to a better society in the Western Balkans. We strongly believe that the young people should be creating a culture of mobility, intercultural exchange and reconciliation. They should also be active contributors to democratic development, social and economic prosperity, and European integration in an increasingly open Western Balkans region. Governments of the Western Balkans should be providing proactive support to youth exchange and youth engagement within their societies, and across the region," a press release said.

RYCO's program focuses on creating opportunities for young people to engage in activities that build mutual understanding and reconciliation in the civic, social, educational, cultural, and sports domains. RYCO initiates and participates in policy making and advocates for reform. It supports the development of a political and social environment that empowers and facilitates youth exchange. In pursuing its mission, RYCO demonstrates its commitment to human rights, human dignity and the building of peace based on mutual respect and trust.
