Ukraine to abolish partnership agreement with Russia

"The agreement on friendship, cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and Russia will be abolished on April 1, 2019," TASS is reporting, citing the proposal.

The agency said 277 deputies voted to support the decision that needed 226 votes to pass.

The agreement, dubbed the "Great Agreement", was signed by presidents Leonid Kuchma and Boris Yeltsin on May 31, 1997. The countries then officially recognized their border and consolidated the principles of strategic partnership and respect for territorial integrity.
