President Iohannis, on reshuffle: CCR cannot solve issue, not constitutional, but political

President Klaus Iohannis said on Friday that the referral made by the Government to the Constitutional Court (CCR) in the case of the appointment of the new Ministers of Transport and Regional Development cannot solve the problem, which is of a political not constitutional nature.

"The CCR has no way to solve the issue, because it is not a constitutional one, it is a political one. The first reason is that de facto Romania has no prime minister, the second is the total inability of PSD [Social Democratic Party, major at rule, ed.n.] to make a policy," the president stated at Cotroceni Presidential Palace.

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced on Friday that the Government has notified the Constitutional Court that President Klaus Iohannis has not made a decision on the appointment of the new Ministers of Transport (Mircea Draghici) and Regional Development (Lia Olguta Vasilescu).AGERPRES(RO - author: Irinela Visan, editor: Georgiana Tanasescu; EN - author: Simona Iacob, editor: Maria Voican)
