UPDATE USR's Barna: Motion of no confidence to be lodged on Friday in Parliament

The Opposition will lodge the motion of no-confidence in Parliament, on Friday, the Chairman of Save Romania Union (USR), Dan Barna, declared on Wednesday.

"The the motion of no-confidence is necessary and awaited for Romania's society and for the country's situation. As you have seen for some weeks, there is a good cooperation at work between the Opposition's parties. (...) This motion of no confidence must be debated and we must have room for debate in society, so as not to be buried by a PSD [Social Democratic party, major at rule, ed.n] ploy and from this perspective, we will lodge the motion on Friday, for the first reading of the motion in Parliament to take place on Monday, and then, perhaps on Thursday, the motion will be voted on, so that there is enough time for public debates on this motion, which contains all the arguments for which the Dragnea - Dancila Government needs to step down from Romania's helm, from the collapse and destruction of Justice, to Romania's indebtedness and the economic collapse of all the indicators that would have allowed us to join the eurozone more rapidly," Barna declared in Parliament.

In her turn, National Liberal Party (PNL) deputies leader Raluca Turcan announced that the censure motion is endorsed by 163 MPs.

""As many as 163 MPs from PNL, USR, PMP, unaffiliated and unaffiliated belonging to Pro Romania have signed and endorsed the lodging of a motion of no confidence against the Dragnea-Dancila Government titled 'Enough! Dragnea-Dancila Government, Romania's shame.' The motion of no confidence is the most important tool the opposition parties have at their disposal to sanction a Govenrmnet that does not respect its governing programme, which is incompetent and malicious. We are announcing today this motion of no confidence and we will table it so that we can thwart a new abusive plan that PSD and ALDE [Alliance of Liberals and Democrats, minor at rule, ed.n.] have, to cast ridicule on this motion, to group the deadlines so that the final vote be cast next Monday, hoping that they will thus be cleared to steal for the amnesty and pardoning ordinance,"Turcan affirmed.

She showed that were the Government to fall as of tomorrow, Romania might do better, änd a governing programme could be put on the table, so that each Romanian can feel that the Government decides and manages for his/her sake.

People's Movement Party (PMP) leader Eugen Tomac said Dancila Government must leave because it has not allocated any dime to the projects regarding the construction of motorways.

"We had to give in Parliament a law forcing the Government to respond to national priorities on the Iasi - Targu Mures nmotorway project to connect Moldova to Europe through a motorway. The Romanians must know that all MPs who will support the demarche of the no-confidence motion will take part in something huge for the country, because the Opposition is always ready to come with a cabinet of ministers so much better than the one we have now," Tomac said.
