Bosnian Serb Police Disperse Dragicevic Death Protesters

Several people were arrested in Banja Luka, the administrative centre of Bosnia's mainly Serb entity Republika Srpska, on Sunday night as thousands of protesters gathered again, in the latest in a series of demonstrations over the past several months over the unsolved death of 21-year-old David Dragicevic.

Despite the authorities saying that Davor Dragicevic, the organiser of the protests and David's father, was not among those detained, his family claimed he has been missing since Sunday's rally.

David Dragicevic's mother Suzana Radanovic told media that her former husband's whereabouts were unknown on Monday morning and he was last seen in Kraijna Square, in central Banja Luka, as police were dispersing protesters.

Radanovic told media that a lawyer went to the Banja Luka police station, but was told Dragicevic had not been arrested.

The protest started in downtown Krajina Square, then the demonstrators, led by Davor Dragicevic went on a protest walk through the streets of Banja Luka.

During the protest walk, the demonstrators prevented a concert by a regional folk singer from taking place, and police made several arrests and dispersed the protest.

Some Bosnian media have reported that Dragicevic is now on the run, but police have not announced any manhunt.

"The organiser of the event did not comply with legally-envisaged obligations but started with a protest walk with the other participants, whereby, in several locations, several offences were committed by the participants of the public gathering," the police said in a statement on Sunday night.
