Russian patriarch: Smart phones lead to Antichrist

In an interview broadcast by the state television, Kirill said that while the Church does not oppose technological progress, it is worried because via these device, "someone can know your exact location all the time, know exactly what your interests are, know exactly what your fears are."

And such information can be used to establish "centralized control over the world," the Russian patriarch said.

"One-point control is the prediction of the arrival of the Antichrist - if we are talking about the Christian point of view. The Antichrist is the person who will be at the helm of a global network that controls the entire human race," said Kirill.
