To Potami issues announcement saying it will support name deal

Centrist To Potami on Friday issued an announcement clarifying that it intends to back the name deal with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia when it comes to Greece's Parliament for ratification.

Seeking to end confusion regarding whether it will prop the government over this issue after it lost its majority in Parliament with the departure of its coalition partner over the so-called Prespes agreement, Potami stressed that it will vote in favor of the accord, but "for Greece and not for the collapsing [Alexis] Tsipras," referring to the prime minister.

"There are those that are making Potami's positive stance to the Prespes agreement appear as support for Mr Tsipras. They are making a big mistake... To Potami only supports the interests of the Greeks," the party said on Friday.
