Rain in Many Parts of Bulgaria, Wet Snow in Northwest Regions

Today the rainfall will continue in many areas of the country, wet snow in the northwestern regions, meteorologist Hristo Hristov, National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, told Focus News Agency. Considerable amounts of rain are expected in the southwestern half of the country. Moderate wind from east-southeast, in the afternoon from northeast, bringing cold air to the northeastern regions. The rain there will turn into snow. The maximum temperatures will range from 0-3°C in the northwestern regions to 12°C in some places in East Bulgaria. In Southwest Bulgaria, the rainfall will stop for some time in the evening and the cloud will briefly break.
A code orange warning for heavy rain and snowfall is in place for the regions of Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Smolyan and Kardzhali, yellow code for 17 other regions.
