Georgi Terziiski is the New Head of the Road Infrastructure Agency

Georgi Terziiski will be appointed Head of the Management Board of the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA), the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Petya Avramova said on 30th of January, as quoted by the press office of the ministry, reports BNT.

At today's regular weekly meeting, the government has decided to release Terziiski from his post as District Governor of Lovech.

"Mr Terziiski has administrative experience and I think he is up to the challenge of leading the agency," Avramova said.

She said that the Road Infrastructure Agency had several important tasks, including a thorough reform of the road toll system in Bulgaria.

"This is a completely new reform for Bulgaria which requires full mobilisation of the agency and will contribute to the collection of more funds with which we can repair, rehabilitate and build national road infrastructure," she noted.

Avramova noted that the other important task of the road agency is the construction of new motorways and new roads.

The ministry also announced that Radoslav Vlahov would be appointed as member of the board of directors of the agency. According to Avramova, along with Doncho Atanasov, who has years of experience in the road sector, the new management team of the Agency will cope with all the challenges.

The appointment of Terziiski follows the resignation of Svetoslav Glosov as head of the agency, at the request of Prime Minister Boiko Borissov, over issues with the introduction of Bulgaria's electronic road tax "e-vignette" system.
