Bank Employee from Northeastern Bulgaria Arrested for Embezzling over BGN 200,000

A 29-year-old bank employee in the town of Dulovo has been detained for embezzling large amounts of money, said the Silistra Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior.
The arrest was a result of an investigation carried out by the Economic Crime Directorate. The officers, acting on a tip, have found that in her capacity as employee of the bank, through forfeited documents, she transferred money to friends and family members' accounts, which was later put into her accounts. Thus, in the period from September 2018 up to now the bank employee has embezzled over BGN 200,000, the total amount is yet to be established.
The woman can be held in custody for up to 24 hours. The case was reported to the District Prosecutor's Office in Silistra.
