MAE: Two Romanians involved in rail accident near Barcelona; one is slightly injured, one unharmed

The Spanish authorities confirmed the existence of two Romanian nationals among the persons affected by the rail accident that took place near Barcelona on Friday, the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informed on Saturday, following the demarches carried out by the representatives of the Romania's Consulate General in Barcelona.

According to the source, one of the Romanian citizens has suffered light injuries and received care on the spot, with no need to be taken to hospital, and the second one was unharmed.

So far, the Consular Office hasn't received any consular assistance requests, the MAE points out.

The affected Romanian citizens can require consular assistance at the following telephone numbers of the General Consulate of Romania in Barcelona: +34 934 181 535; +34 934 344 223;  +34 934 340 220, the calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Center for Romanians Abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by the Call Center operators on an emergency basis, or at the Consular Office emergency number: +34 661 547 853.

Romania's Consulate General in Barcelona continues to monitor on a priority basis the situation and is in permanent contact with the Spanish authorities, being prepared to intervene.
