Water Supply Smolyan will Invest over BGN 91 Million over the next 4 Years

Water Supply Smolyan will invest over 91.3 million leva over the next four years in the water supply and sewerage network in the region. Of these, over BGN 68 million is a grant under the Operational Program "Environment" (OPE) 2014-2020.
This is the first signed contract with the Water Supply and Sewerage Operator under the OPE for the current programming period by Neno Dimov, Minister of Environment and Water and the manager of "Water Supply" Smolyan Eng. Marian Nikolov.

The integrated water project of Smolyan agglomeration envisages the rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment plant in the city. 14 km of water supply and 19 km of sewerage network will be built and reconstructed.

The implementation of the project will improve waste water treatment and will significantly reduce losses in the water transmission network. Upon completion of the project, an additional 30,000 inhabitants will benefit from the improved waste water treatment, the Ministry of Environment and Waters said.

"Water Supply and Sewerage" EOOD - Smolyan was established in September 1991. It is entirely state-owned. The company serves with water the population and the business of 10 municipalities - Banite, Devin, Borino, Dospat, Zlatograd, Madan, Nedelino, Rudozem, Smolyan and Chepelare which are located in the territory of the Smolyan region. The total population is about 130,000 people living in 247 settlements.

The total financial condition of the Smolyan Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, according to its latest published financial report for 2017, the company ended the year with a profit of BGN 404,000.
