#Romania2019.eu/TradeMin Oprea to chair informal meeting of Trade Ministers of EU member states, between 21-22 Feb

The Trade Ministers of the EU gather in Bucharest between 21 and 22 February, at the informal meeting that will be chaired by Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship Minister Stefan-Radu Oprea, in the context of Romania's Presidency at the EU Council.

According to a release of the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council, the meeting will also be attended by European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmstrom.

On Thursday, 21 February, an informal dinner will take place at the Royal Palace that will also be attended by Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Roberto Azevedo and Chairman of European Parliament Committee on International Trade (INTA) Bernd Lange.

On Friday, the Trade Ministers will gather at the Palace of Parliament in order to discuss the modernisation process of the WTO and the commercial relations between the EU and the US. During the working lunch, there will be tackled the ongoing trade negotiations of the EU and the latest developments related to the EU initiative "Everything but Arms."

On the sidelines of the event, the session of Dialogues with the Citizens, organised by the European Commission will be held at the "Carol I" Central University Library, with European Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom and Trade Minister Stefan-Radu Oprea in attendance.

Moreover, on Thursday afternoon, a press briefing held by WTO Director-General Roberto Azevedo and Trade Minister Oprea will take place related to the modernisation process of the World Trade Organisation.
