300 Romanian and foreign servicemen participate in "Platinum Eagle 19.1" multinational exercise

A number of 300 Romanian and foreign servicemen are participating in the "Platinum Eagle 19.1" multinational exercise, a release of the National Defence Ministry (MApN) sent to AGERPRES informs. According to the MApN, the opening ceremony of the "Platinum Eagle 19.1" training module, as part of the "Black Sea Rotational Force 19" exercise, took place at the Romanian Land Forces Secondary Training Center in Babadag, Tulcea County. Thus, on 20 March, almost 100 soldiers of the Romanian Army and 200 servicemen of Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, the US and Ukraine will jointly train in view of increasing the interoperability level. In the training sequences of the "Platinum Eagle 19.1" exercise, the Romanian Land Forces are represented by servicemen with the 341st Infantry Battalion, 9th Mechanised Brigade, servicemen of the Romanian Naval Forces with the 307th Marine Infantry Regiment and servicemen of the Romanian Air Forces with the 95th Air Base, the MApN mentions. The "Black Sea Rotational Force" (BSRF) is an annual regional initiative, led by "US Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa" (MARFOREUR/AF), with the participation of NATO members and partners from the Black Sea, the Balkans and the Caucasus region. The BSRF aims to increase the level of interoperability of the armed forces by jointly training the servicemen in order to participate in peacekeeping and counter-insurgency operations.
