The Cabinet Gave Another BGN 3 million to the Interior Ministry For Schengen

The government approved additional spending on the budget of the Ministry of Interior amounting to BGN 3 000 000, the government's press service announced.

The amount is for the financing of projects related to the implementation of urgent measures for 2019 for the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Schengen area.

"The funds are for activities which are of primary importance for the effective implementation of the measures to counteract the increased migratory pressure on the borders of the Republic of Bulgaria and to carry out construction works and increase the technical security of the border checkpoints", stated in the official message.

The Ministry of Interior has nearly BGN 1.6 billion for 2019, up 200 million more than the previous year. At the end of 2018, the Interior Ministry received another BGN 2 million- again for Schengen.
