Athens transport staff call off strike action

Transport staff in the Greek capital have called off further action after a breakthrough in talks with authorities.

Staff objections over a collective labor contract for this year were lifted following talks with the General Accounting Office.

As a result, planned walkouts by staff on the Athens metro, Kifissia-Piraeus urban railway (ISAP) and the tram at the beginning and end of Thursday's shifts have been called off.
