Roglič to skip Giro to focus on Tour de France

"I will appear in the Tour de France. I'm looking forward to the start there," Roglič announced at Friday's press conference of his Jumbo-Visma team, adding: "Our goal is to win the Tour. I want to be part of it."

Roglič will captain the Jumbo-Visma team at the Tour, taking on a leading role along with Steven Kruijswijk and Tom Dumoulin. The team will also include Tony Martin, Wout van Aert, Sepp Kuss, Robert Gesink and Laurens De Plus.

For Roglič, the chance of leading at the Tour represents an important step in his career, according to cyclingnews.com, but like those around him, he believes that collective strength will be key in competing for the yellow jersey.
