Masks Become Mandatory at Upcoming Mass Public Events in Plovdiv

Due to the worsening epidemic situation in the area, wearing masks at upcoming mass events of a public nature - football matches, concerts and other stage events - becomes mandatory, decided the Regional Crisis Headquarters in Plovdiv.

The regional governor Dani Kanazireva called on the mayors to assist in order to minimize the contact between the visitors when entering and leaving the event.

There are 31 cases of coronavirus in the Plovdiv region during the past 24 hours.

Among the new cases are two babies under one year from Plovdiv and Asenovgrad, one of whom is hospitalized, this was announced by the Regional Crisis Headquarters.

Nine patients have been hospitalized in the last two days. The headquarters also reported a dead patient - an 86-year-old woman with concomitant heart disease.

In connection with the four cases of infected employees from the Regional Health Inspection Plovdiv, an announcement that an epidemiological investigation is being carried out and the contact persons are being tested was made. All obligatory measures regarding the disinfection of the premises have been carried out and prescriptions have been given.

As of Monday, two more hospitals - University Hospital "Pulmed"  - with 15 available beds, and St. Panteleimon Hospital " - with 25 beds, are included in the list for admission of patients with Covid-19, as both medical institutions have the opportunity to increase the bed capacity if necessary. The headquarters also decided to include another hospital with 10 beds in the schedule, which will be only for intensive treatment of patients with coronavirus.
