Jeeps Will No Longer Be Available For Tourists and Off-Road Adventurers in The Area of the Seven Rila Lakes

This was announced by the Minister of Ecology Emil Dimitrov, who was present at the first dig of a building for half a million BGN on the territory of Rila National Park, which will be a base of rescuers and an information center. Control over whether jeeps continue to drive in the mountains will be carried out by the employees of Rila Park, as well as from RIEW-Sofia.

"As of today, the off-road Seven Rila Lakes and car wash The Seven Rila Lakes are closing. People from the lift will go up only by foot. They come to admire nature, we have to preserve the nature for future generations. They can come here by the lift. "In case of emergencies, ambulances can use the service road for the lift. For all other purposes there is a lift and a path," said Emil Dimitrov.

It also became clear that the project for reclamation of the paths in the area of the Rila Lakes is being restored. Heavy equipment will no longer be allowed in the area, and all materials will be transported by horses, the Minister of Environment and Water was categorical.

After the construction of the Control and Information Point in part of the building will be provided premises for the base of the Mountain Rescue Service at the Bulgarian Red Cross to ensure year-round duty of mountain rescuers for faster and more timely response to provide injured tourists. The presence of Park Security staff will also be guaranteed and optimal opportunities will be created for conducting interpretive and educational programs for visitors and ensuring their safety.
