Ajša Vodnik gets another term as vice chair of AmChams in Europe

Ljubljana – Ajša Vodnik, director general of AmCham Slovenija, has won another term as vice president of AmChams in Europe, a network of American Chambers of Commerce from 43 countries in Europe and Eurasia, AmCham Slovenia said. This means Slovenia will remain the seat of the organisation for another two years.

Apart from Vodnik, who will start her next two-year term in January, the executive committee will feature representatives of Sweden, Greece, Montenegro, Ireland, the UK and AmCham EU from Brussels.

Vodnik said that holding a senior position in an organisation that could have great influence and do a lot for the well-being of Europe and transatlantic cooperation at a time when cooperation was crucial – not just because of the economy but also peoples’ health and safety – was a great responsibility.

She also sees her role in AmChams in Europe as “excellent potential” in the light of Slovenia’s EU presidency in the second half of next year.

Established in 1963, AmChams in Europe is the largest network of international chambers of commerce in Europe, comprising of 45 US chambers in Europe and East Asia and representing the interests of European and US companies which employ 20 million people.
