Three bidders cleared for second phase of Divača-Črni Kal track open call

Ljubljana – Three bidders have been designated as eligible to participate in the second phase of an open call for the construction of the rail track between Divača and Črni Kal, the first section of the 27-km Divača-Koper track, a project altogether worth more than EUR 1 billion, the 2TDK project management company said on Monday.

The three selected bidders are Austria’s Strabag that has joined forces with German builder Ed Züblin and Turkey’s Gülermak Agirom, Slovenia’s Kolektor CPG, cooperating with Turkish builders Yapi Merkezi and Özaltin, and Turkey’s Cengiz, which is bidding alone.

2TDK said that its supervisory board had been informed of the decision. The companies are required to submit their bids by 1 February 2021.

If everything goes as planned, the decision is to become final in eight work days. 2TDK also said that it would decide on the candidates eligible for building the second section of the Divača-Koper track, between Črni Kal and Koper, as soon as possible.

Most access roads to the future construction site have been completed. Builders Kolektor CPG and Bosnia’s Euro-Asfalt have so far built 22 roads out of a total of 24 planned. The remaining two are expected to be finished until the 28 February deadline, Kolektor said today.
