PM Citu: Efficiency is the operational word, especially in this period of constraints due to pandemic

Efficiency is the operational word, especially at this time of constraints due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Florin Citu said on Tuesday after meeting officials of the Coalition for the Development of Romania. "The meeting I and Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare, Minister of European Investments and Projects Cristian Ghinea, and Minister of the Environment, Water and Forestry Barna Tanczos had today with officials of the Coalition for the Development of Romania. We touched on predictability and stability in the fiscal area, digitisation and simplification of interaction with the government, reducing labour market imbalances, stimulating investment and absorption of European funds and transparency in spending public money and money under European funding programmes or the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The discussions confirmed to me that the directions that the government team is prioritising at the current stage have been identified as a priority by our partners in the business community as well," Citu wrote on Facebook. He added that moving forward resources must be managed efficiently. "It is important that moving forward we efficiently manage the resources we have in terms of the priorities that emerge for the next period. We remain open to dialogue with the civil society and the business community to identify together the best solutions in our common joint efforts for post-pandemic recovery," added Citu. Chairman of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK Romania) Dragos Anastasiu, member of the Coalition for the Development of Romania, said on Tuesday that at a meeting the same day with Prime Minister Florin Citu he requested the allocation of funds needed to implement aid measures for companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming that payments are delayed. His talks with Citu also focused on the national budget, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and digitisation, Anastasiu added, after the meeting.
