New management appointed at Telekom

Ljubljana – The supervisory board of Telekom Slovenije, the state-owned telecoms incumbent, appointed a new management board on Wednesday headed by CEO Cvetko Sršen after dismissing the current board members.

Sršen, who has an MA in intercultural management, comes to Telekom from postal operator Pošta Slovenije, where he has worked since 1987, most recently as director of one of the company’s regional divisions.

Sršen has also been active in politics, including as candidate for mayor on the Democrats (SDS) slate in 2012.

He will be joined by Mitja Štular, who has a PhD in electrical engineering and had worked at the Ljubljana Faculty of Electrical Engineering for seven years before joining Telekom in 2001, where he has held a number of senior positions in the development and technology department.

Štular has also chaired the programming council of public broadcaster RTV Slovenija.

Tomaž Jontes has been with Telekom since 2002. His most recent role at the company was as head of market communications for corporate clients, before he was named to the board in 2020.

Jontes was dismissed but immediately starts his new four-year term along the two other members effective today.

The appointments come after a turbulent year for Telekom, which has seen a series of replacements at the top, most recently in November, when three supervisors were appointed by a court at the request of the Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SSH).
