We take a look at some of the biggest events across the most globally recognized and followed sports in the world. Because of how much training and planning many of these competitions take, some of these sports only take place every two or four years, making it even more special when these events come round, drawing in crowds from all over the globe.

 

Although we've left esports off this list, it's worth noting that predictions say these may very well overtake the crowds generated by regular sports, in the coming years.
