Covid-19 in Bulgaria: Record High Number of Infected in 24 Hours – 5,176

 In the past 24 hours, 5,176 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the country - the highest figure in a day since the outbreak of the epidemic.

Yesterday, 20,455 tests were made - 12,574 PCR and 7,881 antigen, as 25.3% tested positive.

During the day, 13,183 people were vaccinated, and since the beginning of the immunization campaign - 458,731. A second dose have already received 93,081 people.

There was also a new increase in hospitalized Covid-19 patients. As of March 31, they were 9,811 - 142 more than yesterday. The intensive care units accommodated 748 people, which is two fewer than the previous day.

The active cases were 69,666.

The disease claimed the lives of 155 people, 3,219 were cured.

Since the outbreak of thee epidemic, there have been 13,068 deaths, 255,692 people have recovered.

The total number of confirmed carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Bulgaria is 338,426, of which 11,859 are medics, data from the single information portal show.

The most are the newly registered cases in Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and Burgas.
