Slovenian women shooters win silver at European championships

Osijek – Slovenian shooters Urška Kuharič, Živa Dvoršak and Klavdija Jerovšek won silver in the women’s 10m air rifle team event at the 2021 European Shooting Championships in Osijek, Croatia on Tuesday. The Slovenian team had to concede a 2:16 defeat against Russia in the final.

Slovenia had a score of 623.2 points to place second among the eight top-scoring teams today. Kuharič was the best Slovenian shooter (209.5 points), followed by Dvoršak (207.7 points) and Jerovšek (206 points).

The Russian team dominated the gold-medal match and was declared the winner in the ninth round when it reached 16 points. The Slovenian team scored the first points only in the eight round of the match also due to some bad luck.

Third place went to the Romanian team, which defeated Norway in the bronze medal match.

Slovenian teams in other categories have not made it to the elimination rounds.

In the women’s junior events, Katarina Fevžer got herself a place among the top-scoring eight shooters in the 50m rifle 3 positions category. She placed eighth in the end.
