Israel's President Rivlin to attend commemoration of soldiers killed in 2010 Bucegi Mountains plane crash

Visiting President of Israel Reuven Rivlin will be attending today at the Romanian-Israeli monument in the Bucegi Mountains a military and religious ceremony commemorating seven soldiers - six Israelis and one Romanian - who died in an aviation accident in 2010. According to Romania's Ministry of National Defence (MApN), Romanian and Israeli officials, comrades and family members of the soldiers who died on mission will participate in the ceremony in the town of Simon, Brasov County. The Chief of the Israeli Air Force will also take part in the commemoration event. "On Thursday, President Rivlin, the head of the Israeli Air Force and the head of the Romanian Air Force will participate in a commemoration ceremony of the soldiers who lost their lives in a helicopter accident in 2010 in the Bucegi Mountains. The officials will be joined by 100 family members of the seven heroes," Israeli ambassador to Romania David Saranga wrote recently in a Facebook post. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin is paying a state visit to Romania this week at the invitation of his counterpart Klaus Iohannis.
