Zero Covid deaths as 7-day average case count drops below 100

Ljubljana – Slovenia reported no daily fatalities from Covid-19 for the first time since 10 October as only 83 new cases were logged for Wednesday, pushing the 7-day average case count and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents below 100.

Of the 2,333 PCR tests performed yesterday, only 3.6% came back positive. This was as 26,516 people were screened with rapid antigen tests where all positives are checked again with PCR tests.

The rolling 7-day average has thus dropped to 97, down by as much as 35 from the day before, while the cumulative 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents fell to 99, down by nine, data from the government and the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) show.

The number of patients hospitalised with Covid-19 has dropped to 112 as the number patients in intensive care remains at 38.

Government data show 250,288 people have so far recovered from Covid-19.

A total of 4,724 patients with Covid-19 have lost their lives.

According to NIJZ, 785,426 people have already received their first dose of a vaccine against Covid-19 and 568,727 have been fully inoculated. The latter figure represents 27.5% of the population.
