Finance Ministry, UiPath agreement to operationalise Ministry's RPA Center of Excellence

The Finance Ministry and tech unicorn UiPath announced the signing of their first cooperation agreement, a step forward for rendering operational the Ministry's Robotic Process Automation Center of Excellence. Under the agreement, Finance Ministry and UiPath representatives will identify the repetitive software tasks with the Ministry's computer systems and will develop software robots to automate these processes. The implementation of automation solutions will help cut the waiting time for taxpayers who request tax information, and will also increase the security of the processed information. "We continue digitization efforts begun at the Finance Ministry. Together with UiPath representatives, we bring to the Romanian tax administration the latest technologies to automate repetitive processes, such as issuing certain tax certificates, which require a long working time from tax inspectors. The automation of these processes reduces the burden of repetitive tasks and allows officials to use their expertise for complex, higher value-added activities. Let me thank UiPath representatives for their openness in working with the Finance Ministry at the RPA Center of Excellence," said Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare. The agreement signed on Tuesday lays the foundations for a long-term cooperation within the RPA Center of Excellence, which aims to identify and implement large-scale digitization solutions within the Finance Ministry, being oriented towards innovative technologies such as Blockchain, Cloud solutions, BigData/Analytics and Robotic Process Automation, the release states. According to the Ministry, this move is intended to speed up the adoption and implementation of new technologies in tax administration, as well as increase the security of processed data for an improved taxpayer experience and lower administrative costs in the long term.
