Slovenia logs 48 new coronavirus infections for Monday

Ljubljana – Out of 1,695 PCR tests performed in Slovenia on Monday, 48 returned positive, according to the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ). The 7-day average of new cases and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents stand at 26 and 18, respectively.

In addition to the PCR tests, 26,537 rapid antigen tests were also performed yesterday, with all positive samples double checked with the PCR method.

Hospitals are still treating 59 Covid-19 patients, one more than the day before, including 15 in intensive care, which is one fewer than the day before, according to data from the Covid-19 tracker site Sledilnik.

The NIJZ estimates that there are currently 407 active cases in the country. Slovenia has confirmed 257,477 infections since the start of the pandemic.

A total of 830,774 people have so far received the first jab of a Covid-19 vaccine and 704,044 (33,4%) have been fully immunised, according to data from NIJZ and Sledilnik.
