Number of new coronavirus infections up to 477

Ljubljana – The number of daily reported new coronavirus infections in Slovenia is again similar to the numbers recorded in mid-May, with 477 new cases confirmed in 2,489 PCR tests on Monday, according to data provided by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

The positivity rate thus exceeded 19%. The 14-day incidence per 100,000 population continued to rise, going from 163 to 175, fresh figures show.

The 7-day average of confirmed daily cases was up by 24 to 328.

It is estimated that there are currently 3,753 active cases in the country, which is 258 more than on Sunday.

On Monday, 26,967 rapid antigen tests were also performed with all positive cases double-checked with the PCR method.

Slovenia has so far logged 264,141 coronavirus cases.
