Clock is Ticking for Jansa and his Alternative Reality

The left-liberal bloc in Slovenia is made up of four parties, for whom the polls predict a good overall result in the election. The right-wing bloc is made up of the SDS and its satellites, which have had warnings in the polls for months about the toxicity of participating in a coalition led by Jansa. Less than a third of polled citizens trust his government, and in the recent referendum, some 87 per cent of referendum participants voted against the government's water law.

All this is a logical consequence, as Jansa's words and acts are losing contact with reality every day. He himself is losing his temper and becoming more and more frustrated, which is evident in his behaviour towards his political opponents. And the biggest opponent for Jansa is always someone who confronts him with the consequences of his own actions. It may be the media, the opposition, or even foreign politicians, and even a group of ordinary citizens - with whom he got caught up in a verbal conflict a few days ago, as they ascended Mt Triglav.

Under the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU, Janša's views have been shown several times already, invariably casting the state of Slovenia in a bad light. His Twitter posts often go beyond his remit. The official Government account is reserved for posts written by Jansa. He confronts foreign politicians almost on a daily basis.
