Pečečnik named new president of Slovenian Business Club

Ljubljana – Businessman Joc Pečečnik has been elected the new president of the Slovenian Business Club (SBC) for a three-year term. Pečečnik is one of the initiators of the SBC.

One of the most prominent Slovenian entrepreneurs, Pečečnik currently heads the property developer Bežigrajski Športni Park, whose main project is the planned renovation of a landmark stadium in Ljubljana.

At the same time, the executive committee of the club appointed Sonja Šmuc, the former director general of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS), the executive director. She took over on 1 September, the SBC said on Friday.

“The SBC associates owners of companies that represent a pillar of responsible and developmental entrepreneurship in Slovenian society, which for Slovenia is a key paradigm of survival, progress and growth,” it added.

The club was established in January 2014, and currently numbers 273 members.
