Almost 1,000 new coronavirus cases confirmed on Thursday

Ljubljana – Slovenia reported a total of 998 new coronavirus infections for Thursday with the positivity rate standing at 19.2%, show the latest official data. Hospitalisations continued to rise as four Covid-19 patients died, according to data tracker Covid-19 Sledilnik.

A total of 278 patients were hospitalised this morning, up by nine on the day before, including 61 in intensive care, down by two, show data by the Covid tracker site covid-19.sledilnik.org.

The 14-day incidence per 100,000 population increased by 22 to 416 and the seven-day average of new daily cases grew by 56 to 751, according to the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

There are now an estimated 8,818 active cases in Slovenia, up by 457 on the day before, NIJZ said. Since the start of the pandemic, the country has confirmed 274,528 cases.

A total of 1,019,524 persons or 48% of the population have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and 930,704 or 44% have been fully immunised.
